Tim Cohan has spent 20 years working at industry-leading brand agencies developing strategic brand identities, print communications, interactive design, experiential graphics, and wayfinding systems for local and global organizations. He was most recently Associate Partner at Pentagram’s New York office where he developed brand identity systems for Warner Bros., DC, Fisher-Price, the Sanitation Foundation, the Wizarding World and its film and game properties; as well as the first permanent sign system for Hudson River Park in Manhattan.
Cohan is also a faculty member in SVA’s MFA Design program where he created and teaches a course called Brand Concepts. He acts as thesis advisor for one student each spring and is on the admissions committee, which reviews and selects applicants for the program each year.

In partnership with writer Jesse Mechanic and industrial designer Ryan Kahen, he co-founded Wood Moves, an independent design collective that crafts original handmade home goods and donates 5% of all sales to fight poverty. He designs and builds products and small furniture pieces in his studio in Brooklyn.
